About Emily

Emily received her Master’s in Occupational Therapy in June of 2000, from Seton Hall University. After graduating, she worked at the prestigious Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation in East Orange, New Jersey. She specialized in Traumatic Brain Injury, wheelchair seating and positioning, and outpatient upper extremity rehabilitation.  She relocated to Asheville in 2002 and was the director of rehabilitation at Pisgah Manor for two years. In August of 2004 she began working for Care Partners Rehabilitation Hospital, specializing in Spinal Cord Injury and burn rehabilitation. She developed a passion for the treatment of lymphedema and burn population. She became a Certified Lymphedema Therapist at the Doctor Vodder School International in 2006 and began treating inpatient burn patients.  In 2010, she transitioned to outpatient services, where she was instrumental in the development of the outpatient occupational therapy program for Lymphedema at Care Partners. She has been developing various outpatient programs for Care Partners since, as well as opening an outpatient hand therapy clinic for Care Partners at Asheville Orthopedics Associates.  She is a co-owner of Thrive Therapeutics Asheville, and is passionate about helping cancer patients throughout the continuum of their care.
